SoundAlike Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 22, 2026
Reckona Inc. ("we") describes below how the iOS/Android app "SoundAlike" (the "App") handles user information.
Information We Process and Why
The App records audio with your device's microphone and imports audio from video/audio files in order to score your impressions. This audio and your scores are handled under the following principles:
- All scoring happens entirely on your device. Your recordings, extracted audio features, and scores are never sent off the device.
- We do not obtain your recordings, extracted audio features, or scores. The App has no account registration. Advertising providers' processing of ad-related data is described under "Advertising" below.
- Your recordings and scores are never used for advertising.
- The App displays in-app ads. For ad delivery, advertising providers may collect the data described in "Advertising" below.
Advertising
The App displays ads using Google AdMob, provided by Google LLC. To deliver and measure ads, cap their frequency, and prevent fraud, AdMob and Google's advertising partners may collect and use information such as:
- Advertising identifiers (the iOS Advertising Identifier (IDFA) and the Android Advertising ID (AAID)), along with approximate location, IP address, and device information
- Ad interaction history, such as impressions and taps
- iOS: On first launch, the App asks for tracking permission through App Tracking Transparency (ATT). If you decline, you can still use the App and see ads, but the Google Mobile Ads SDK does not include the IDFA in ad requests and does not perform tracking across other companies' apps or websites as defined by ATT.
- EEA, UK, Switzerland, etc.: When required, the App displays a Google UMP consent form and requests personalized, non-personalized, or limited ads based on your choices. When UMP requires a privacy-options entry point, you can change those choices from "How your audio is handled" in the App.
For how AdMob handles this information, please refer to Google's privacy and advertising policies:
Network Communication
- On iOS, the App downloads a voice-analysis model (from Hugging Face) and a speech-recognition model (from Apple) the first time you score. No audio or personal data is transmitted at that time. Scoring works offline afterwards.
- On Android, the analysis model ships with the App, so scoring requires no network communication at all.
- Displaying ads requires communication with ad servers.
Data Stored on Your Device
- Saved originals, plus the recordings, scores, and score breakdowns of your attempts, are stored in the App's private storage on your device.
- This data may be included in OS backups (iCloud backup, Android auto backup).
- Temporary files created during speech recognition or video import are deleted as soon as processing finishes.
Deleting Your Data
You can delete saved originals and attempt history at any time, individually or all at once, from the "How your audio is handled" screen in the App. Deleting the App removes all stored data on the device.
Sharing with Third Parties
We do not obtain or share your recordings, extracted audio features, or scores. However, as described under "Advertising," Google and its advertising partners may process ad-related data to deliver ads. We do not send your recordings or scores to Google.
Children's Privacy
The App is not designed for children. We do not obtain users' recordings, scores, or account information. Ad-related data is processed as described under "Advertising."
